Imathias participate in the celebration of 2019 Car Free Day
Actions continue as part of the Student Radio Message and Song Competition “Do ’em Listen 2020” on the theme “WE HAVE A DANGER, WE ARE HAPPY LAND”. Radio bands operating in Veria on the occasion of European Mobility Week and Car Free Day 2019 take the baton.
“European School Radio, First Student Radio” and its Youth Team in collaboration with the Radio Travelers of the Veria Music School and the Radio Group of the 3 rd Veria Radio take part in the No Cars Day celebrations
September 22, 2019. The events are organized by the Municipality of Veria in collaboration with the Imathias Secondary Education Directorate / School Activities Office and city agencies. The actions take place in the context of European Mobility Week (16 – 22 September 2019) which this year focuses on safe walking and cycling and the benefits that
they can have on our health, the environment and the economy. This week’s call for action is: Let’s Walk Together! (Walk with us!).
“European School Radio, the First Student Radio” is a communications sponsor and Veria’s radio producers are covering the events journalistically. They are actively involved in broadcasting the action program live on the internet. The journalism team hosts interviews with the agencies, while conducting workshops for children and young people who wish to learn about the magical world of radio production. Having a broader focus on the environment and encouraging the creation of original audio material, it hopes to sensitize and energize citizens towards the climate crisis and the environmental impact of their transportation choices.
Also, as part of the actions, teachers and students are given the opportunity to be informed of the “Make It Hear 2020” Competition and prepare their entries by the end of January 2020.
